U-TEK REFRIGERANT GEL PACKS

Nothing Compares to the Durability and Convenience of U-TEK Refrigerant Gel Packs
U-TEKs are a clean, low cost alternative to wet or dry ice. Constructed of a laminated metallized polyethylene film, U-TEK's foil packaging is durable, puncture-resistant and won't leak. When used to replace wet ice, U-TEK's eliminate the wet mess--returning to a gel after thawing. Each pack can be used repeatedly, is harmless to handle and non-toxic. U-TEKs are available in both -23°C and -1°C formulations so they are an ideal choice for many applications.

Test Results: A U-TEK gel pack (19.0 x 16.5 x 2.5 cm) with a -1°C formulation placed in an insulated container (3.8 cm wall thickness) at temperatures between 21°C.and 23°C kept the materials at or below 5.6°C for over 60 hours.

A U-TEK gel pack (19.0 x 16.5 x 2.5 cm) with a -23°C formulation placed in an insulated container (3.8 cm wall thickness) at temperatures between 21°C.and 23°C kept the materials at or below 0°C for over 40 hours.

Overall, temperatures rose approximately 0.3 degree C per hour during the test.
Optimum results are obtained by storing lower temperature U-TEKs in a freezer at -23°C or colder before using.

Insul-Ice™

Insul-Ice™...a new form of ice that lasts longer, eliminates the wet mess, and is reusable.

Introducing Insul-Ice- small packets of a patented refrigerant sealed between layers of durable, flexible plastic film. The result is an ingenious new ice that:

• Won't melt into a watery mess.
• Stays cold one-third longer than regular ice.
• Is completely reusable.

The refrigerant in Insul-Ice contains neutral pH distilled or de-ionized water and proprietary materials which comply with FDA regulations for food-grade chemicals, and have acceptance by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for direct contact with food. The durable, laminated plastic film used in nsul-Ice withstands pressures of 60 pounds per square inch for more than 5 minutes.

  The Insul-Ice Advantage

     Insul-Ice stays colder longer than regular ice. In independent tests, Insul-Ice remained effective one-third longer
     than ordinary ice.

     Insul-Ice is reusable. Refreeze and use it repeatedly. Insul-Ice works best when frozen to -10°C or below in a
     standard freezer.

     Two Styles
     Insul-Ice Singles are an ideal substitute for crushed ice or cubes in displays, anywhere old fashioned ice is used to
     keep foods cold.

     Insul-Ice Mat offers maximum convenience. Cut only what you need from the master sheet. Even when frozen, the
     plastic film between packets remains flexible for wrapping food containers or folding over on itself for double or triple
     thick cold blankets.

Insta-Ice® Solid Dry Ice Block Machines

Make ready-to-use blocks of dry ice in 60 seconds anywhere
With an Insta-lce dry ice machine and a tank of liquid CO2 (available from industrial gas dealers nationwide), solid blocks of dry ice are right at hand.

Quick and simple operation

To make dry ice, just hook up the machine to a liquid CO2 cylinder (with a siphon). Remove finished blocks by releasing the metal latches and lifting the dry ice out of the block-forming chamber. The blocks are ready to use or store, and need no compacting. The entire process takes about one minute for a one-pound block.
